Relationship Consulting

I Want To Work With You For Decades, Not Minutes

I am not interested in one-shot projects. My skills are best deployed in longer range relationships, where I make your business and your markets a part of my daily routine of study, deliberation, and idea creation. To give you the most value, I must become a part of your process. So, I offer my services on a month to month retainer, only.

As time rolls forward, you will always have the option of ending the relationship at any time. Of course, I happen to know that clients rarely want to see me leave, once we've begun working together.

To add some structure to this proposition I have defined three relationship levels that we can consider.

Level 1 - $2500 per month
At this level, your business becomes an active part of my daily work life, with from a few minutes to several hours of my work time dedicated to your business and your markets. You will get regular emails and telephone calls from me where I share my current thinking about your products, services, and operations. And, you will get the benefit of my ideas for hit products and services when these ideas make sense.

Level 2 - $5000 per month
Here, I become a dedicated member of your strategic management team. Frankly, at this level you receive more benefit from my part-time involvement than you would from hiring most full-time marketing professionals. You gain the benefit of a world-class strategic marketing expert at one-fourth to one-sixth the cost of a full-time executive.

Level 3 - $10,000 per month
You've bought yourself my primary attention in all matters, and you have preemptive access to me 24-hours per day. At this level I am your strategic marketing man. Period.

You are welcome to trial-run a new relationship with me by selecting one of the lower level relationship terms. But, as your dependency on my skills and your demands on my time begin to exceed the terms of the original deal, I will ask you to step up to a more substantial contract commitment.

My Contract

Over the years I have learned the value of a simple plain-language written agreement... that's the best contract in the world. And, because I am committed to my beliefs, the only way you and I will work together (even if 'you' happen to be General Motors) is by agreeing to use my standard consulting contract.
